Accounts Payable Accountant

Plains is looking to fill a position currently available in our Finance Group. The Accounts Payable Accountant will provide senior technical support to team members in the accounts payable department. This opportunity is excellent for an individual wanting to pursue an exciting career in the oil & gas industry.
Responsibilities:
- Senior member of AP Processing team;
- Strong working knowledge of AP & AR;
- Identify and implement process improvements;
- Initiate monthly and ad hoc reporting requirements;
- Ensure strong communication exists with senior personnel both internally and externally;
- Monitor account sub-ledgers;
- Inter-company account maintenance, invoice processing and account reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a 2 year accounting diploma and working toward a designation, plus 2 years relevant experience in AP/AR;
- Individuals must possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills;
- Relevant industry experience is preferred but not a requirement.
