Customs Analyst

Plains has an opening for a Customs Analyst reporting to the Manager, Transborder Compliance. This is a newly created position responsible for providing support in identifying, recommending and initiating changes to a growing department.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. Customs regulations such as the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, US & CDN Reconciliation or B2 processes, ACE & eManifest, post entry regulatory adjustments, and border security initiatives such as C-TPAT and PIP;
- Identify key opportunities for process improvements;
- Analyze and support the implementation of solutions to eliminate identified Customs compliance deficiencies;
- Experience and knowledge of all modes of international logistics;
- Working experience auditing Customs entries, Brokers invoices, and authorizing payment or initiating post entry corrections.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education preferred (diploma/certificate with a focus on international business or supply chain and logistics);
- CITT or P.Log. certification or working towards;
- Canadian or US- CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) professional designation, or currently enrolled;
- Customs Broker License or qualified status favorable;
- Minimum 5 years in Customs and Trade Compliance experience, or experience working for an importer, or a Customs Broker, or a combination thereof;
- Solid working knowledge of the US and Canadian customs process, laws and regulations;
- Advanced computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point;
- Self motivated, quick learner, and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with an ability to effectively prioritize work to meet established deadlines.
