District EH & S Advisor - Peace River, AB

Plains Midstream Canada is currently looking for an energetic, well organized, self motivated individual to work as part of the Environment, Health and Safety (“EH&S”) team in our Peace River office. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide necessary direction, leadership and EH&S support to our West District Field operations team from Rainbow Lake to Edmonton;
  • Bring sound knowledge of Provincial and Federal Regulations regulatory compliance;
  • Lead incident investigation and make remedial recommendations as required;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic EH & S plans;
  • Conduct EH&S training programs to instruct employees in safe work practices and emergency procedures;
  • Carry out periodic inspections to monitor compliance of company programs and ensuring completion of action items;
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with employees, management and various regulatory agencies;
  • Conduct Health and safety inspections and Safety audits as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven background in effective loss management programs such as safety, emergency response and environmental management;
  • CSO/ACSO accreditation. CRSP designation is an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and Provincial Occupational, Health and Safety Acts, regulations and reporting requirements;
  • Exceptional team building and interpersonal skills with the ability to promote and encourage others to be committed to the requirements of the EH&S program;
  • Excellent computer skills with a solid understanding of the Microsoft suite of products;
  • A valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract.  Ability to travel and drive through out Western Canada ( 60% Field Time);
  • Thorough knowledge in incident investigation and root cause analysis;
  • Experience in Hazard identification and Hazard communication and control measures.
