Human Resource Advisor (USA)

Plains has an immediate opening for an experienced HR Advisor. This newly created role will be based in the Calgary corporate office and will require frequent travel to our U.S. locations. The main focus will be to address employee inquiries, assist managers with resolution of employee relations issues and communicate corporate directives to the US field offices.
Responsibilities:
- Assess staffing requirements and staff moves;
- Salary administration and policy interpretation;
- Short/long term disability management;
- Current awareness of regulatory changes and regulations governing employees;
- Oversee the voluntary and involuntary termination processes;
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers;
- Conduct employee exit interviews and monitor results;
- Assist in the development and interpretation of HR policies and new programs.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in HR or related field with 5-7 years of experience in a generalist role;
- A CHRP designation, or in progress;
- Knowledge or willingness to learn rules and regulations as they apply to employees across numerous States;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to think critically and act logically in evaluating situations;
- Enjoys working with people, providing excellent customer service and works well in a team environment.
