Plains is looking for an experienced Manager, Operations to oversee our crude oil pipelines and facilities in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This newly created role, will report directly to the VP Crude Operations and will work closely with District Superintendents and the Control Centre and be responsible for the safety and efficient operation of our major pipeline systems, storage facilities, and crude oil truck/rail terminals.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the maintenance, construction and engineering activities of the crude oil pipelines and facilities;
- Supervise the pipeline/facility work requests and authorizations for management approval;
- Ensure compliance of operations with all regulatory requirements;
- Produce and maintain a cost effective operational budget;
- Initiate, maintain, review and implement management strategies and procedures to support the commercial objectives of the company;
- Develop plans for appropriate staffing and project execution;
- Interface with other departments including HSE, Finance, Engineering, Business Development and Transportation Services.
Qualifications:
- 10 – 15 years previous Oil & Gas operations experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior supervisory position;
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical or related Business degree preferred;
- Strong leadership and team building skills;
- The ability to work well with minimal supervision;
- Proven organizational and communication skills;
- The ability to prioritize and multi-task;
- Advanced level MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint;
- Positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
