Superintendent, Truck Transportation

The role of the Superintendent, Crude Oil Truck Transportation is to develop and maintain the efficient trucking operation within the assigned region. The position involves the supervision of field staff within Alberta, Saskatchewan, and other areas as required and reports to the Director, Crude Oil Truck Transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the gross margin performance on a revenue budget of approximately $100 million per year;
- Manage all operating costs and develop and negotiate customer agreements based on established rate parameters;
- Provide comprehensive weekly market reports and communicate with senior management about trends;
- Responsible for all fleet and resource management, ensuring compliance with the fleet maintenance program;
- Manage the acquisition and retention of lease operators, and optimize the utilization of equipment;
- Ensure that the safety program including meetings, inspection compliance and training is supported and promoted in the field;
- Provide training, direction and mentoring to field staff and lease operators.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five plus years experience specializing in fluid hauling;
- Previous experience as a Trucking Field Supervisor would be a definite asset;
- Has the ability to achieve in a quantitative environment;
- Is highly motivated with well developed communication skills;
- Is a team player and a responsible individual who takes initiative/ownership in all areas of work;
- Has demonstrated analytical and computer skills (specifically Microsoft Excel);
- Ability to travel to assigned market areas throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, and other areas as assigned;
- Can comply with our Drug and Alcohol Policy, as this is considered a Safety Sensitive position.
